Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model

The Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model is merging from the existing mesoscale meteorological models into a comprehensive mesoscale meteorological modeling capability. WRF represents an inter-organizational partnership to create the next-generation mesoscale NWP modeling system for research and operations that will facilitate operational numerical weather prediction (NWP) collaboration and accelerate the transfer of new science from research into operations. The WRF program is managed through the NWS Office of Science and Technology and a collaborative effort among NCAR, NCEP, FSL, CAPS, AFWA, and a number of university scientists.

A short documentation on how to run WRF on Linux:

Running WRF on Linux using PGI compilers
A sample WRFSI script

Questions regarding the above two docs on WRF and Linux can be addressed to Nash'at Ahmad at nahmad6@gmu.edu.
